What is Rashi in Vedic Astrology?

Rashi (राशि) refers to a zodiac sign in the Vedic system. Unlike the Western tropical zodiac, Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (Nirayana) which accounts for the precession of equinoxes through the Lahiri Ayanamsa correction. This means your Vedic Sun sign may differ from your Western zodiac sign by approximately one sign in most cases.
